A Video For My Mother Professor Najma Mahmood On Her 70th Birthday

'Meri Ammi' is a song written by my wife Aarefa for my mother Professor Najma Mahmood on her 70th birthday. The song has been composed and sung by me while my friend Savio Vora has done the music arrangements and also played the guitar. My brother in law Tabish Ahsan has edited and directed the video. My elder brother Humayun Shahryar and elder sister Saima Shahryar contributed some priceless pictures for the video as well. Hope you like it.

    what a nice birthday gift, rather innovative...happy birthday to your mom from my side, with best wishes and good health...simply put, every parent would be lucky to have a loving son like you...and every son should seek inspiration from you, in terms value / importance of parents and what they mean to their children

    i found this like an unplugged / semi plugged version with minimal instruments, so your vocals came to the fore front and expressed the feelings and emotions well in the lyrics which were a journey down the memory lane with some fond moments of cherished moments in lifetime

    the earlier nazm and now this song...you made it with passion and conviction in terms of the overall purpose n message (tribute/wish), and those feelings were reflected in the songs

    Hi Faridoon sir, I'm a huge fan of your music and poetry. Love the depth in your poems/lyrics and yet they are composed in such an unpretentious style. I totally love them. I recently visited your Reverbnation page and was hurt to see that my favorite song "I'm a Born Thief" has ben removed. :'(. Any reason for this? Is there any other place where I can listen to that gem? Awaiting your reply. :(

    It was so nice to listen to the song for your mother, and to see my much beloved teacher, Najma Apa. Belated happy birthday to her, many many years of good health, happiness, love and peace. In one of those pictures, I saw a glimpse of another of my sweet teachers, late Shahnaz Hashmi Apa. May she rest in Peace. Thanks a lot for sharing this video.
