I can already predict that the "bikini act" in Cocktail will be as useless as all the previous ones. These acts NEVER come with a valid reason, it's all about "gloss". A man can notice a woman's beauty not only by seeing her half-naked for God's sake! That's just cheap and voyeuristic + it's NOT part of our culture. Remember how CRUCIAL was Bipasha's bikini act to the story of Players? Kareena's to the narrative of Tashan? Kangna's to Rascals? Or even Rani's to Dil Bole Hadippa?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589300215493185670.post-70479550712045993262012-05-20T11:42:57.036+05:302012-05-20T11:42:57.036+05:30I am sorry I got two threads mixed in my previous ...I am sorry I got two threads mixed in my previous comment...the need for a bikini clad actress, and Deepika as a performer. My apologies for that.Flutterbynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589300215493185670.post-24593336230890411442012-05-20T11:03:38.719+05:302012-05-20T11:03:38.719+05:30I don't see the need for bikini clad actress a...I don't see the need for bikini clad actress as a marketing tool, nor for content. If the movie is good it will do well, if it isn't, it isn't. Besides, I consider Imtiaz Ali an intelligent film maker who does not need to resort to these cheap tricks...I thought he would be the last one to go this route. Deepika's persona is modern enough and she pulls off her performance well enough that she does not need to resort to this, even though this is how she got her start in the glamour business. I personally think she is a stunning performer in the songs...she transforms herself amazingly well. But she needs to work on her diction and dialogue delivery...the returns will be better there.Flutterbynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589300215493185670.post-38467012973697122262012-05-20T06:10:36.780+05:302012-05-20T06:10:36.780+05:30I agree with the first comment. Maybe its part of the routine..I dont know.It seems to appeal the basest instincts in the name of 'art' :-/Mis4Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05723574577204580566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589300215493185670.post-26653122549994578792012-05-19T19:46:08.757+05:302012-05-19T19:46:08.757+05:30Im excited for the songs!!Im excited for the songs!!majan_1326https://www.blogger.com/profile/14427242582096134363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589300215493185670.post-25063025504735286962012-05-19T17:45:29.808+05:302012-05-19T17:45:29.808+05:30With all due respect to Deepika and all the curren...With all due respect to Deepika and all the current Bollywood actresses, we've really have ENOUGH of their bikinis. I live in a small village near Jaipur, and in my family we really MISS previous heroines, who definitely had more class, charm and elegance than the new lot. What are they trying to prove by showing as much skin as possible?! That's really beyond me!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
